SAVINA SPECIAL MEETING NOTICE: NOVEMBER 4, 2026

Savina homeowners are reminded of an upcoming Special Meeting of the Membership on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the Savina Lounge and via Zoom. Fenton & Grant will provide an update on the Association’s ongoing construction defect claims against Bosa following the October 20 mediation, which concluded without a settlement. Legal counsel will discuss the next steps, including the initiation of binding arbitration, potential financial impacts, and available legal options. Mediation is expected to resume in April 2027 as discussions continue.

The meeting will be recorded, and a link will be shared a few days after the meeting. For questions regarding the meeting or arbitration process, please contact the Association’s legal counsel at savina@fentongrant.com or (800) 238-0625. We encourage all homeowners to participate and stay informed on this important Association matter.

ONGOING CONSTRUCTION NOISE – 3RD FLOOR

Please be advised that there are currently two units under construction on the 3rd floor. We apologize for the ongoing noise disruption these projects may have caused to residents in nearby units and on adjacent floors. We have been advised that the most significant construction noise occurred today, October 23. Minor intermittent noise should be expected Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. for approximately three more weeks.

CELEBRATING OUR SAVINA TEAM: 2026 HOLIDAY GIFT FUND

As the holiday season approaches, it’s a wonderful time to thank the people who make Savina feel like home every day. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the teams who keep our building safe, clean, and running smoothly, our staff goes above and beyond all year long. The annual Staff Holiday Gift Fund is a simple way for owners and residents to show their appreciation together.

Who Receives the Gift Fund

The fund is shared among the 18 staff members who directly serve our community: 12 front desk, access control, and engineering team members, and six janitorial technicians.

Each person’s share is based on their years of service at Savina. Our team leads, including the Resident Service Coordinator, Chief Engineer, and Front Desk Lead, also receive leader shares in recognition of their added responsibilities.

Our General Manager, Alma, and Assistant General Manager, Carlos, do not receive any portion of the fund. Every dollar goes to the staff!

How the Funds Are Distributed

Checks are issued directly to each staff member by the General Manager based on the calculation above, with no fees or deductions taken out. Your contribution goes to the team in full.

Suggested Contribution

The suggested contribution is $400 per unit. This is only a suggestion, and any amount is truly appreciated. If you prefer to give to staff members individually, you’re welcome to do that too.

How to Contribute

  • By check: Make it payable to “Savina Condominium Owners Association” and write “Holiday Fund” in the memo line. Drop it off at the Front Desk or mail it to: Savina Condominium Owners Association | Attn: Holiday Fund
1388 Kettner Blvd, Ste 100 | San Diego, CA 92101
  • Through your HOA account: Email Carlos Mayes at cmayes@actionlife.com with the amount you would like billed to your account.

Key Dates

We would appreciate the contributions by Monday, November 30, 2026, so checks can be prepared in time for staff to enjoy them during the holiday shopping season. Contributions received after that date will still be accepted through Monday, January 4, 2027, and distributed in a second round of checks.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping us celebrate the team that takes such great care of Savina!

UPCOMING HELICOPTER CONSTRUCTION WORK – 1325 PACIFIC HIGHWAY

Residents are advised of upcoming helicopter lift operations scheduled for Sunday, November 1 at 1325 Pacific Beach in San Diego. The project will be managed by Brian Cox Mechanical and North County Traffic Control, with work scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Residents may experience increased noise and construction activity throughout the day. For questions or concerns, please contact the 24-hour project representative, Mike Brock, at (619) 208-9264.

REQUEST FOR RESIDENT INSPECTION: BALCONY CONDITION CHECK

The Association’s construction experts have identified a potential issue with missing or unsupported fasteners on some balcony glass railings. Residents are encouraged to inspect their balconies and, if any fasteners appear missing or loose, please email our General Manager, Alma Galindo, at Agalindo@actionlife.com to report the needed repair and Alma will assist with scheduling your unit’s repairs with Barrier Glazing.

As a precaution, we also advise residents to avoid leaning on the balcony while further evaluations are underway.

PETS IN COMMON AREAS

We would like to remind all residents that pets are not permitted in the building’s residential amenity areas, with the exception of the designated Pet Retreat.

Recently, we have observed several instances of pets being brought into the pool, spa, and barbecue areas by both residents and their guests. We also noticed a dog on the white couch in the barbecue area last Saturday, which is not allowed. Thank you for your cooperation.
