ENJOY OUR NEW BARBECUE GRILLS THIS WEEKEND!
We’re excited to announce that Savina’s new barbecue grills have been installed and are ready for residents to enjoy! The new grills feature an upgraded spark-ignition system, replacing the previous glow-plug ignition for more reliable lighting and improved performance, especially during the windy conditions we often experience at Savina.
While we finalize and distribute a one-page guide for the new barbecues, our Resident Services Coordinator, Joseph, has helped us create a short instructional video demonstrating their operation. The video is available on the site phone and can be texted directly to you upon request. Please text us at 619-904-5445 before heading to the barbecue area.
We hope you enjoy the new grills this weekend!
SAVINA TEAM NIGHT OUT! – Alma Galindo, CMCA, AMS, PCAM
Ever since I stepped into the role of General Manager at Savina, I knew I wanted to coordinate meaningful quarterly events that give our team an opportunity to unwind, connect, and enjoy time together outside of the community. So far, we have tackled an escape room, attended a Padres game, and now we are gearing up for a fun and competitive virtual reality (VR) experience! This event will take place on Friday, October 23, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
While we are out enjoying some well-deserved team time, Action’s on-call team will be covering the community and will remain available to assist residents as needed.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the vendor partners who helped make this event possible: Servpro Centre City/Uptown, Personal Touch Cleaning (Savina’s janitorial vendor), and Standard Pacific Plumbing.
We greatly appreciate your understanding and support. We look forward to spending a fun evening together as a team and returning refreshed and ready to continue serving the Savina community.
CELEBRATING OUR SAVINA TEAM: 2026 HOLIDAY GIFT FUND
As the holiday season approaches, it’s a wonderful time to thank the people who make Savina feel like home every day. From the friendly faces at the front desk to the teams who keep our building safe, clean, and running smoothly, our staff goes above and beyond all year long. The annual Staff Holiday Gift Fund is a simple way for owners and residents to show their appreciation together.
Who Receives the Gift Fund
The fund is shared among the 18 staff members who directly serve our community: 12 front desk, access control, and engineering team members, and six janitorial technicians.
Each person’s share is based on their years of service at Savina. Our team leads, including the Resident Service Coordinator, Chief Engineer, and Front Desk Lead, also receive leader shares in recognition of their added responsibilities.
Our General Manager, Alma, and Assistant General Manager, Carlos, do not receive any portion of the fund. Every dollar goes to the staff!
How the Funds Are Distributed
Checks are issued directly to each staff member by the General Manager based on the calculation above, with no fees or deductions taken out. Your contribution goes to the team in full.
Suggested Contribution
The suggested contribution is $400 per unit. This is only a suggestion, and any amount is truly appreciated. If you prefer to give to staff members individually, you’re welcome to do that too.
How to Contribute
- By check: Make it payable to “Savina Condominium Owners Association” and write “Holiday Fund” in the memo line. Drop it off at the Front Desk or mail it to: Savina Condominium Owners Association | Attn: Holiday Fund
1388 Kettner Blvd, Ste 100 | San Diego, CA 92101 - Through your HOA account: Email Carlos Mayes at cmayes@actionlife.com with the amount you would like billed to your account.
Key Dates
We would appreciate the contributions by Monday, November 30, 2026, so checks can be prepared in time for staff to enjoy them during the holiday shopping season. Contributions received after that date will still be accepted through Monday, January 4, 2027, and distributed in a second round of checks.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping us celebrate the team that takes such great care of Savina!
PUMPKIN PATCH AT WATERFRONT PARK

Get into the fall spirit with a free pumpkin patch event at Waterfront Park, just a short walk from Savina! Bring the family out for an afternoon of pumpkin decorating, crafts, music, inflatables, and food trucks. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities and a costume contest with prizes for the funniest, most original, and best family costumes.
REQUEST FOR RESIDENT INSPECTION: BALCONY CONDITION CHECK
The Association’s construction experts have identified a potential issue with missing or unsupported fasteners on some balcony glass railings. Residents are encouraged to inspect their balconies and, if any fasteners appear missing or loose, please email our General Manager, Alma Galindo, at Agalindo@actionlife.com to report the needed repair and Alma will assist with scheduling your unit’s repairs with Barrier Glazing.
As a precaution, we also advise residents to avoid leaning on the balcony glass while further evaluations are underway.

BURGEON DRAIN MAINTENANCE WORK – SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2026
Burgeon is scheduled to have their drain pipes jetted on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.
During this time, strong odors may be present in the garage, and we recommend avoiding the area if possible. Savina’s engineer, Fernando, will activate the ventilation fans and assist with airing out the garage. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please contact the Front Desk.
DRAIN MAINTENANCE REMINDER
Notice a sewer-like smell in your bathroom? The likely cause is a dry drain trap.
Every sink, tub, shower, and floor drain has a P-trap, a curved pipe that holds water to seal out sewer gas. When a drain goes unused, that water can evaporate and let odors in. Keeping traps filled is each homeowner’s responsibility.
Easy prevention:
- Run water in every drain at least once a week, especially in rarely used fixtures.
- Use your bathroom exhaust fan to keep air moving.
- If an odor persists, contact a licensed plumber and advise Management.
Sewer gas is a normal part of every plumbing system, but nobody wants it in their home, and a few simple habits go a long way toward keeping it out.
