IMPROPER PARKING & TOWING: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Parking within the Savina garage is structured to ensure a smooth, predictable experience for all residents. Every parking stall inside the garage is assigned to a specific residence, and there is no guest parking unless a reservation has been made in advance through the Parkade app. Because of this, it is essential that all residents and guests park only in their designated spaces.
When a resident returns home, they expect to be able to pull into their assigned parking spot without issue. Finding another vehicle parked there is not only a violation of Savina’s parking rules but also a significant inconvenience for the resident affected, often resulting in delays, frustration, and unnecessary disruption.
If another vehicle is improperly parked in your assigned stall, you have the right to tow the vehicle in order to regain access to your space.
Western Towing — 619‑297‑8697
If you prefer that the Front Desk call Western Towing on your behalf, the team can absolutely assist. To proceed, the following items are required:
- Written authorization from the affected resident, and
- Photos of the offending vehicle clearly showing it in the assigned space.
Once received, the Front Desk can contact Western Towing immediately.
While neither residents nor the Association are required to notify anyone prior to towing, Management will gladly attempt to contact the offending party if accurate contact and vehicle information is on file. This courtesy step is only possible when the resident has kept their information up to date.
To help avoid unnecessary tows and to assist Management in resolving parking issues quickly, it is very important that each resident keep their vehicle information current. This includes temporary or rental vehicles and vehicles with temporary license plates.
Residents may update their information in either of the following ways:
Option 1: Update Through the Resident Portal
- Log into the resident portal
- Select “My Home” from the left‑hand menu
- Choose “Vehicles”
- Add or edit your vehicle information anytime
Option 2: Email Your Vehicle Information
Email updated information to Assistant General Manager, Carlos Mayes, at cmayes@actionlife.com.
Please include:
- Make
- Model
- Year
- Color
- License plate number
The goal is always to avoid towing whenever possible. Residents and guests are kindly asked to respect the community’s parking policies and park only in their assigned stalls. Taking a moment to double‑check where you are parking helps maintain a respectful and frustration‑free environment for everyone at Savina.
If you have any questions, please contact Alma Galindo 619-255-1204 or at agalindo@actionlife.com.
PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!
Navigating the Savina garage can sometimes be a bit tricky. Between tight turns, walls, columns, and large vehicles, entering or exiting a parking space is not always quick or simple. Some residents may need a moment to safely maneuver their cars.
We kindly ask everyone to extend patience and grace to your neighbors as they enter or leave their assigned spaces. A little understanding goes a long way in helping keep the garage calm, safe, and stress‑free for everyone.
P.S. Additional painted signage and new convex mirrors will be installed soon to improve visibility and make maneuvering easier throughout the garage. A special thank‑you to the residents who suggested these improvements, including the resident who took time out of her day to walk the garage with Management and share her thoughtful placement ideas
RAILROAD CROSSING SAFETY: THE FASTEST WAY TO REPORT A PROBLEM
Downtown rail activity is an important part of the neighborhood, and occasionally crossings may malfunction. For example, gates may remain in the down position or equipment may be damaged by a vehicle. When this happens, the fastest way to get the issue resolved is by contacting the railroad directly through its dedicated emergency line.
Railroad companies do not receive automatic alerts when a gate or signal malfunctions. Their response time depends entirely on someone notifying them. Calling 911 is always appropriate in any situation involving injury or immediate danger, but for mechanical or equipment issues, the railroad’s emergency line provides a much faster connection to the appropriate dispatcher.
Each railroad crossing has a blue emergency notification sign posted nearby. This sign includes:
- The railroad emergency number, and
- A DOT (Department of Transportation) crossing identifier, which tells the dispatcher exactly which crossing requires attention.
Dispatchers are not local, so providing the DOT identifier is the most efficient way for them to locate the crossing.
We encourage everyone to save the emergency number in their phone under a name such as “Railroad Crossing Emergency.” In the contact notes, you may include the DOT identifiers listed below for quick reference.
