PROPOSED NEW RULE: PETS ON COMMON AREA FURNITURE

The Board of Directors will be considering a proposed new operating rule regarding pets at the upcoming Board Meeting:

📅 Wednesday, March 18, 2026

🕕 6:00 p.m.

📍 Social Lounge (1388 Kettner Blvd., San Diego, CA 92101)

_______________________________________

What Is Being Proposed?

Pets and animals would not be permitted on any Association common-area furniture.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Lobby seating
  • Swings in the 4th-floor hallway
  • Other shared seating areas

Service animals performing trained duties would be exempt, as required by applicable law.

Why Is This Rule Being Considered?

The purpose of the proposed rule is to:

  • Preserve the cleanliness and hygiene of shared spaces
  • Prevent pets and animals from sitting or being placed on common furniture
  • Maintain sanitary and well-kept amenities for all residents
  • The Board’s responsibility is to maintain common areas in a manner that benefits the entire community.

What Would This Mean for Residents?

If adopted: Residents and guests may experience improved cleanliness and reduced exposure to pet hair, dirt, and allergens. Clear guidelines will be in place for pet-related expectations. Service animals performing trained work will continue to be permitted as required by law

IMPROPER PARKING & TOWING: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Parking within the Savina garage is structured to ensure a smooth, predictable experience for all residents. Every parking stall inside the garage is assigned to a specific residence, and there is no guest parking unless a reservation has been made in advance through the Parkade app. Because of this, it is essential that all residents and guests park only in their designated spaces.

When a resident returns home, they expect to be able to pull into their assigned parking spot without issue. Finding another vehicle parked there is not only a violation of Savina’s parking rules but also a significant inconvenience for the resident affected, often resulting in delays, frustration, and unnecessary disruption.

If another vehicle is improperly parked in your assigned stall, you have the right to tow the vehicle in order to regain access to your space.

Western Towing — 619‑297‑8697

If you prefer that the Front Desk call Western Towing on your behalf, the team can absolutely assist. To proceed, the following items are required:

  • Written authorization from the affected resident, and
  • Photos of the offending vehicle clearly showing it in the assigned space.

Once received, the Front Desk can contact Western Towing immediately.

While neither residents nor the Association are required to notify anyone prior to towing, Management will gladly attempt to contact the offending party if accurate contact and vehicle information is on file. This courtesy step is only possible when the resident has kept their information up to date.

To help avoid unnecessary tows and to assist Management in resolving parking issues quickly, it is very important that each resident keep their vehicle information current. This includes temporary or rental vehicles and vehicles with temporary license plates.

Residents may update their information in either of the following ways:

Option 1: Update Through the Resident Portal

  1. Log into the resident portal
  2. Select “My Home” from the left-hand menu
  3. Choose “Vehicles”
  4. Add or edit your vehicle information anytime

Option 2: Email Your Vehicle Information

Email updated information to Assistant General Manager, Carlos Mayes, at cmayes@actionlife.com.

Please include:

  • Make
  • Model
  • Year
  • Color
  • License plate number

The goal is always to avoid towing whenever possible. Residents and guests are kindly asked to respect the community’s parking policies and park only in their assigned stalls. Taking a moment to double check where you are parking helps maintain a respectful and frustration free environment for everyone at Savina.

If you have any questions, please contact Carlos Mayes or Alma Galindo 619-255-1204 or at cmayes@actionlife.com or agalindo@actionlife.com.
