A QUICK REMINDER ABOUT PARKING: IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
Please make sure your vehicle is parked completely within your assigned space and not extending into neighboring spots. When a car sticks out, it can make it harder for others to park and move around safely in the garage. If your vehicle is too large to fit within the lines, you may need to look for a more appropriate parking option within the community.
We are also currently auditing the parking garage to confirm which vehicles are assigned to each space. You may see staff walking through and writing down vehicle information; this is part of that process. We will be reaching out if any updates are needed, but you can also save time by logging into your resident portal and updating your vehicle information there. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep the parking area safe, organized, and easy to use for all residents.

GARAGE ELECTRICAL OUTLET USE – IMPORTANT UPDATE
Following discussion at the March 18, 2026, Board Meeting, the Board of Directors has taken action regarding the ongoing use of garage electrical outlets for electric vehicle and battery charging. A recent review identified approximately 38 residents actively using common area and personal 110v outlets, typically through extension cords or personal charging equipment. While the Board understands the convenience this may provide, the current practice raises important concerns that cannot be overlooked.
First, there are significant safety and liability risks. Extension cords used in the garage create potential trip hazards and may expose both individuals and the Association to injury and liability. Additionally, the ongoing use of extension cords for charging purposes does not comply with applicable electrical code requirements. Second, electricity drawn from common area outlets is not individually metered, meaning that this usage is currently subsidized by the community as a whole, which is not an equitable arrangement.
The use of any electrical outlet within the garage is strictly prohibited for any purpose. This applies without exception to common area outlets as well as any outlets installed, modified, or connected by residents, regardless of prior approval, installation method, or perceived ownership. This includes, but is not limited to, electric vehicle charging, battery charging (including trickle charging), and the use of extension cords or personal charging equipment.
The Board remains committed to working with the Safety Committee and Management to explore a long-term solution that is safe, code-compliant, and fair to all residents. If you have any questions, please contact Alma Galindo at 619-255-1204 or via email at agalindo@actionlife.com.
BBQ AREA UPDATE – NEW IPAD AT 4TH FLOOR BBQ TV
We are happy to announce that the iPad at the 4th Floor BBQ area has been replaced and is fully operational.
As a reminder, the iPad allows you to easily manage the entertainment features in the area, including:
- TV Control: Enjoy your favorite shows while grilling or relaxing in the BBQ area.
- Audio Options: Keep the sound localized to the TV area or broadcast it throughout the BBQ space.
- Personal Music: Connect your phone to play your own music in the BBQ or pool area.
- Volume Control: Adjust the sound levels independently for both the BBQ and pool areas.
Thank you for your patience while we worked to restore the system. If you have any questions or experience any issues using the iPad, please don’t hesitate to contact the Front Desk.
KEEPING YOUR TRASH ROOMS CLEAN & PEST-FREE
To help maintain cleanliness and prevent pests in our shared trash rooms, all residents are required to properly contain food and organic waste before disposal. In San Diego, plastic bags, including those labeled “compostable” or “biodegradable”, are not permitted in organics bins and can contaminate the waste stream.
Instead, food scraps should be placed in paper bags, wrapped in newspaper or paper towels, or securely contained before being disposed of. Properly handling organic waste is especially important in our warm climate, as loose food can quickly lead to odors, maggots, and other pests. Taking a moment to dispose of waste correctly helps keep our community clean and comfortable for all.
PREVENT PROBLEMS BEFORE THEY HAPPEN: YOUR BALCONY CHECKLIST
To keep your community safe, attractive, and enjoyable for everyone, please review these important guidelines for balconies, decks, and common areas:
- No Tossing Items
Please do not throw anything from balconies or decks, including cigarettes. Even small items can cause serious damage. Several years ago, a cigarette landing on a balcony cushion started a major fire.
- Smoking
Smoking is allowed inside your unit or on your exclusive balcony/deck, but residents must take steps to minimize smoke impact on neighbors (air purifiers, smokeless devices, etc.).
- Vegetation & Landscaping
Plants must stay within your balcony or deck boundaries. Potted plants must have a tray underneath to catch water and prevent spillage. Trays should be raised to allow airflow. Plants must not block drains or fall onto balconies below.
- Barbecue & Lantern Restrictions
Only electric barbecues are allowed. Gas or charcoal grills are prohibited. Only electric lanterns and heat lamps are allowed. Propane or other gas devices are prohibited.
- Balcony & Deck Cleaning
Clean carefully to avoid water or debris spilling over edges. Residents are responsible for any damage or injury caused by items that fall from balconies or decks. Spillage: Please ensure mops, hoses, or other cleaning activities do not allow water, soil, or other substances to flow beyond your balcony/deck. Using trays or containers can help prevent spills onto neighbors’ areas.
GARAGE SAFETY GUIDELINES: KEEP EVERYONE SAFE & DRIVE SMART!
Maximum Speed
Always maintain a maximum speed of 5 mph. Drive slowly, especially around corners, because blind spots are present.
Headlights On
Always keep your headlights on while driving in the garage. This helps other drivers see you, even during daylight.
Flash Around Corners
When approaching blind corners, briefly flash your headlights. This alerts other drivers and helps prevent collisions.
Guests
Remind any guests using the garage to follow these same safety rules.
Why it matters
Proper speed and visible lights help prevent accidents and keep our community safe.
