ROCK ’N’ ROLL MARATHON WEEKEND: IMPORTANT RESIDENT TRAFFIC & ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION
Residents are advised that the Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon will take place this weekend, bringing increased traffic and several important road closures throughout the downtown area. Key closures include Ash Street between 5th Ave and Pacific Highway, 5th Ave between B Street and Ash Street, B Street between 17th Street and 5th Ave, and northbound I-163 between B Street and Friars Road.
Traffic patterns will also change around B Street and Pacific Highway, with detours directing vehicles to Harbor Drive, Front Street, and Imperial Avenue depending on travel direction and time of day. Residents should allow extra travel time, expect heavier pedestrian activity, and plan ahead for building access, deliveries, guest arrivals, and ride-share pickups throughout race weekend.
Enclosed is a map of the downtown road closures and detour routes for your convenience. If you are participating in the marathon this weekend, we’d love to hear how you did. Please share your race experience with us after the event!
COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We’re looking for volunteers to support our community by serving on the Rules, Amenities, and Finance Committees. Committee members help review ideas, provide input, and keep Savina running smoothly. Whether you have experience or just want to get more involved, we’d love your participation. If you’re interested, please email Alma Galindo at Agalindo@actionlife.com for a Committee Interest Form.
GARAGE SAFETY REMINDER: SPEED & LIGHTS
For the safety of all residents, guests, and staff, please remember that all drivers must maintain safe and proper speeds while operating a vehicle in the Parking Garage. The maximum speed limit is 5 miles per hour at all times. Because there may be blind spots throughout the garage, residents are also encouraged to turn on their headlights while driving to improve visibility and help prevent accidents.
BIKE RE-REGISTRATION
During our recent bicycle room audit, we identified approximately ten (10) bicycles with no known owner and an additional ten (10) that appear to belong to former residents. In some cases, these bicycles may have been given to current residents, and ownership information may not have been updated.
To assist with identification, management has placed notices on bicycles with unknown ownership. If you see a notice on your bicycle, please contact the management office as soon as possible to confirm ownership and update your registration information. Bicycles that remain unidentified after June 22nd may be subject to removal in accordance with Savina storage policies. Thank you for your cooperation!
UPCOMING LOBBY DEEP CLEANING
The lobby will undergo nightly deep cleaning from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., June 1–4. Please expect temporary cleaning activity during these hours.
BEFORE YOU RENOVATE: IMPORTANT COMMUNITY UPDATE
We understand homeowners often look forward to making improvements or upgrades to their units. However, because the community is currently in the Construction Defect (CD) claim process, it may best to wait before starting any modifications inside your unit.
Until the claim is resolved and the repair scope is finalized, any changes could be affected by future work. For example, if repairs are needed behind walls or in areas you have upgraded, those improvements might need to be removed or altered, potentially at your expense.
Pausing for now helps avoid unnecessary costs and ensures your upgrades won’t interfere with required repairs. Please contact us if you have any questions.
INSURANCE
In accordance with the Association’s governing documents, all owners are required to maintain liability insurance. Owners who lease their units should also ensure that tenants carry renter’s insurance for the duration of the lease term.
Owners are kindly requested to submit a current copy of their insurance policy for the Association’s records at their earliest convenience. Policies may be sent to Carlos Mayes at cmayes@actionlife.com. If you have already provided this information, please disregard this notice.
On a similar note, please be advised that Savina has renewed its insurance policies (June 1, 2026 – June 1, 2027). The Association’s updated Certificate of Insurance (COI) was uploaded to the portal documents under “Insurance”.
If your lender or mortgage holder requires a more specific or customized COI, please contact your insurance representative directly, Kirk Miller Insurance Agency, at 858-400-4504 or HOAcerts@kirkmillerinsurance.com.
