NEW WASTE HAULER – UNIVERSAL WASTE
By: Alma Galindo, CMCA, AMS, PCAM

I am pleased to announce Savina’s new partnership with Universal Waste, which will serve as your waste hauler for trash, recycling, and organics beginning July 1, 2026. Ware Disposal’s final day of service will be June 30.

Over the past several months, I have monitored pickup schedules and bin usage, and have observed that bins were often only half full on service days. Based on these findings, I worked with the waste broker to create a more efficient schedule that maintains timely service, prevents overflow, reduces unnecessary pickups, and lowers costs for the community.

The revised service schedule is as follows:

  • 2 yard trash compactor, serviced four times per week
  • (1) 3 yard trash, serviced two times per week
  • (2) 4 yard trash, serviced three times per week
  • (1) 2 yard recycling compactor, serviced four times per week
  • (1) 3 yard recycling, serviced three times per week
  • (3) 4 yard recycling, serviced three times per week
  • (1) 65 gallon organics, serviced one time per week

Previously, recycling was serviced six times per week, which proved to be more frequent than necessary. This adjustment, combined with the new vendor partnership, results in a monthly savings of $975.33, or $11,703.96 annually.

This schedule will continue to be monitored and adjusted if needed. I am confident this change will maintain service quality while delivering meaningful savings for the community. If you have any questions, please contact me directly at 619-255-1204 or agalindo@actionlife.com.

SAVINA 4th OF JULY BBQ PARTY

Mark your calendars for Savina’s 4th of July BBQ on Saturday, July 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the Social Lounge. Residents may bring up to two adults per unit, and children living in the household are welcome to attend. Be sure to RSVP by June 29th using the registration link provided on the event flyer.

QUIET HOURS REMINDER

To help maintain a peaceful and enjoyable living environment for all residents, please be mindful of noise levels. Residents are expected to use courtesy regarding voice levels, unnecessary noise, and boisterous conduct that may be heard outside their residential unit. This includes televisions, stereos, cell phones, other sound-emitting devices, and pets. Please keep the volume of all devices at a reasonable level, particularly during designated quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

Please be kind to your neighbors. There have been several noise complaints recently. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

TRAVELING FOR THE HOLIDAY? PROTECT YOUR HOME

If you are heading out of town for the holiday, we recommend turning off the water supply to your residence before you leave. This simple step can help prevent costly water damage in the event of an unexpected leak while you are away. If you’re unsure where your unit’s water shut-off valves are located, the Engineering team is happy to show you where they are before your trip.

We also recommend confirming that the Association has a current emergency key for your unit. If an emergency occurs while you are away and we are unable to access your unit, forced entry may be necessary to prevent further damage. Any costs associated with forced entry and repairs would be the responsibility of the homeowner. If you have any questions, please contact Management.

From the beautiful beaches of Coronado and Mission Beach to neighborhood gatherings, barbecues, and community celebrations, the Fourth of July is a wonderful time to enjoy everything our region has to offer while spending time with family and friends.

Here are just a few popular celebrations happening throughout the county:

Big Bay Boom Fireworks Show – One of the largest fireworks displays in California, visible from multiple locations around San Diego Bay, including the Embarcadero, Harbor Island, Shelter Island, and Coronado.

To help everyone enjoy the amenities safely this holiday weekend:

  • Smoking is not allowed in the pool/spa area

Have a fun, safe, and Happy Fourth of July!

In observance of Independence Day, the Management and Engineering teams will be off on Friday, July 3.

PROPER USE OF REFUSE ROOMS

Please help keep your community clean by disposing of all trash properly. Large items and anything that does not fit in the trash or recycling chutes must be taken directly to the main trash room on P1.

Please do not leave bags, boxes, or other items in the floor trash rooms, inside the chutes, or on the floor around the trash and recycling bins. All cardboard boxes must be broken down before being placed in the appropriate bin. Items left outside of bins create safety and sanitation concerns and may result in fines or cleaning charges.

Thank you for doing your part to keep your shared spaces clean and accessible for everyone.

COMMERCIAL LOT – NEW SIGNAGE

To ensure only authorized people access the commercial parking lot, we have placed signage at the entrance while the commercial gate remains open. The signs will indicate that the lot is reserved for authorized use only and are intended to discourage unauthorized individuals from parking or loitering in the area. Thank you!

BUILDING-WIDE CARPET CLEANING NOTICE

Carpet cleaning continues throughout the building, working from the top down. Crews will clean two floors at a time, with the exception of the final floors. Please exercise caution in freshly cleaned areas as surfaces may be damp. We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this carpet cleaning project.
