PERSONAL VENDORS & GARAGE ACCESS – A FRIENDLY REMINDER

We are happy to help make projects and services in your home go smoothly! To ensure garage access remains safe, secure, and convenient for everyone at Savina, we would like to share a few helpful reminders when arranging access for personal vendors (such as cleaners, contractors, etc.).

Parking Arrangements Are Required

Before your vendor arrives, please make sure they are assigned a parking space. This can be done by allowing them use of your assigned space or reserving a space in advance through Parkade. Please also give us a heads up! You can call, e-mail, or text us with your instructions so that we can expeditiously assist your vendor.

Front Desk Check‑In

Your vendor must call or check in with the Front Desk in advance before accessing the garage if we are providing them access. Idling in the garage can cause traffic backups onto the street, and delay access for commercial tenants, residents, or Savina staff.

Please No Tailgating

For everyone’s safety and security, vendors may not wait for another vehicle to exit and then tailgate into the garage. This bypasses the security measures in place and defeats the purpose of controlled access at Savina.

Speed and Lights

All drivers must maintain safe and proper speeds and observe a maximum speed of 5 miles per hour while driving in the Parking Garage. There may be blind spots present. It is recommended that headlights be turned on while driving in the parking garage for improved visibility and safety.

SAVINA RESIDENT AND PAST BOARD MEMBER: ALAIN AVIGDOR

By Board Vice President, Bob Bulger

“Alain was a key figure in our HOA right from the start. He served as our first chair of the rules committee and was among the first homeowners to join the board after Bosa released the building. He was also our first train coalition member, and he contributed to the finance, amenities, and community affairs committees, plus he was a founding member of the Savina book club. He was also very involved in his synagogue, even chairing their security committee. He was a loving husband to Barrett and a devoted father to his two sons. You could always spot Alain walking his Welsh Terrier, Cardiff. He will be greatly missed.”

Alain recently passed away and will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

REQUEST FOR RESIDENT INSPECTION: BALCONY CONDITION CHECK

The Association’s construction experts have identified a potential issue with missing or unsupported fasteners on some balcony glass railings.

Residents are encouraged to inspect their balconies and, if any fasteners appear missing or loose, please email our General Manager, Alma Galindo at Agalindo@actionlife.com to report the needed repair and Alma will assist with scheduling your unit’s repairs with Barrier Glazing.

As a precaution, we also advise residents to avoid leaning on the balcony glass while further evaluations are underway.

HELP IMPROVE BUILDING INTERNET RELIABILITY

Residents have continued to report inconsistent internet connectivity within the building. After speaking with a technician, we’ve been advised to document these issues more consistently so they can be escalated for further investigation. All residents experiencing problems are encouraged to email support@webpass.net each time an issue occurs. Submitting these reports will generate support tickets, helping the provider identify patterns, assess the scope of the problem, and work toward a more reliable long-term solution for the community.

OUT OF OFFICE NOTICE – JULES, RESIDENT SERVICE COORDINATOR

We look forward to welcoming Jules back and are excited to have her return soon.

STAFF UPDATE: WELCOME (BACK), FAJAR!

Fajar will be returning to Savina as an overnight associate starting on May 10. He worked the overnight shift, full time, prior to Monica taking over.

He’ll be back on site for training on May 8th and 9th to get up to speed and will then resume his regular schedule on Sundays and Mondays from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Please help us welcome him back as he transitions into the role again!

FIRE PIT REPLACEMENT COMPLETE

We’re happy to share that the new fire pit has been successfully installed on the pool/spa deck, replacing the previous one that was cracked. We hope this upgrade makes the space more comfortable and inviting for relaxing and spending time with neighbors, friends, and family.

WYNDHAM LEASE EXTENDED THROUGH 2032, WITH POTENTIAL TO 2035

Here is an important update regarding the Wyndham lease.

The current lease, held by RLJ Lodging Trust through its subsidiary FelCor Hotel Asset Company, L.L.C., was originally set to expire in 2029. After several years of negotiations with the Port of San Diego, a lease extension was approved in February as part of the consent agenda. This extension adds an initial three years, moving the expiration to 2032, with an additional three-year option that could extend the term to 2035 if certain conditions are met. As part of the agreement, RLJ is required to invest a minimum of $13 million in interior renovations, with no exterior changes planned, and will continue paying current lease rates. The company must also obtain a cost estimate for potential demolition and environmental remediation and contribute to a dedicated fund to cover those expenses if necessary.

EV CHARGING STATIONS RESERVED FOR RESIDENT USE ONLY

Please be reminded that the community electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are intended for resident use only. Residents who utilize the charging station are responsible for paying all associated electricity costs, and the system is designed to accept credit card payments. To ensure fair access for everyone, vehicles should only remain in the charging area for the time necessary to complete charging and should be moved promptly afterward. Recently, there have been instances of unauthorized parking in these designated spaces, which limits availability for residents who need to charge their vehicles. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping these spaces accessible and used as intended.
